Review on 🔧 Gates TCKWP307 Engine Timing Belt Kit incl. Water Pump by Marcus Block

I used to be a big Gates fan, have been using Gates timing belt kits for years, things have changed lately. Gates is currently selling very poor quality components and replacing formerly high quality bearings and idlers with very poor quality bearings and idlers. Of what is supposed to be (and was) a Japanese bearing there was actually only 1. The rest are made in China, no need to guess as 'China' is clearly written on them! The tensioner says Made in Canada but it is also of poor quality, I would have no doubt that it is also made in China. The lines on the belt do not line up with the markings on the pulley, this hasn't always been the case, it also appears to be fairly new. By the time the gate goes back to the old one, they've only lost one more customer. Btw, I'm a mechanic and I buy several sets every month, so unfortunately I have to cut ties, but I don't feel comfortable putting inferior parts on a customer's car.
