So this product works as it should, the metal wire heats up in the plastic but I can see if you are working with something thin then you can. In order to nail this and then lift it, you have to wait for the plastic to cool down a bit and then pull out the gun. The clips have some resistance when inserted into the gun and I suspect this is to keep them from falling out, but it also poses a problem if you're trying to operate this one-handed. Not only do the staples break as directed in the instructions, they must be cut with the included cutter. This is a great product but if only it had a small magnet or some way that would allow the brace to stay in place without having to use friction to hold it in place it would be great for thin plastic applications. UPDATE: 11/30/21 I used this on a thicker piece of plastic and it worked really well, it sunk into the plastic almost covering the mount, then I took my dremel and sanded it down as you can see in the picture . This should make a strong bond if you melt the screed like I did. In general I am satisfied with this product.
