Review on 🚗 Fram TGA7626 Tough Guard Rigid Panel Air Filter: Ideal for Lexus and Toyota Vehicles by Eric Power

I ordered 2 of these filters for my 96 4Runner SR5 as I have used them before and thought they were good. Well, as someone else said, they may come in a Tough Guard box, but these aren't Tough Guard filters, which are "yellow filter paper and oiled" in a black rubber case, they're "Extra Guard" which "white and dry" are ." in the same building. Both boxes are, so I checked 2 Walmart stores and each had Tough Guard boxes that contained both types of color filters. The rep said that depending, where the filters were made they could be yellow or white to check the side of the filter it lists where it was made mine mexico said if it was slippery and smelled like oil then it was tough guard that smelled good of oil but didn't open the filter bag to touch it. I read him the filter side frame numbers and he said it was a new standard filter so I must have bought the same one with a white filter and black frame. He knew really no more than what's on the W website was said. My conclusion: I have no idea what I noticed are the hard protective filters that are always packed. Check them for the smell of oil. I'm not saying every type of filter is bad, in fact the Extra Guard is a new type of filter that Honeywell is testing to catch 99% of dirt, but personally I prefer the Tough Guard. Update 4/2014: I simply ordered 2 more filters here for price and convenience reasons and they are white again. They've been shrink-wrapped in the box, as good protection should be, so it looks like the filters are now white instead of yellow.
