Love this in your bag sharpening set

I love this in your bag sharpening set. It won't give you the mirrored edge you see on Reddit, but if you're out and break your knife, you can quickly restore it to good cutting shape just by using it. I keep this in my pocket in case something happens while I'm away. You have many angles to choose from when you need to quickly reset the edge. I found one strike for a carbon steel knife and two or three strikes for a stainless steel knife. A few more touches if you change the angle abruptly. A 30 degree angle is ridiculous when the gap is so small, only my axes and strong axes get angles like that! I don't end up using my usual technique on the white ceramic stone, but it's long enough that the circle method (putting the knife at a right angle in the center of the stone and making even circles with the knife) seems to work. As with any freehand sharpening, you'll need to be calm to get decent results, but I haven't found a knife a ceramic stone can't work with. My EDC knife is stainless steel which sometimes chips, but it only takes a few minutes for the stone to be smooth again.
