Great set! It's mid-weight to almost light, but doesn't feel cheap in the hand. The edges are nice and smooth, unlike the coarse-cut cutlery found in some cheaper restaurants. I haven't owned a set for a very long time and only wash dishes by hand. So far there are no signs of fading or wear and tear. They may have water stains when they air dry but that doesn't bother me knowing they'll be clean and stay the same when washed in the dishwasher (but can wear out quicker). If I really felt the need to have spotless cutlery, I would hand dry it. While I haven't had any issues, Berglander seems to stand behind their products. They included a quality assurance certificate that looks and feels like a credit card with a unique number. The cutlery was packaged in a fairly small, relatively plain, slightly dated box compared to what you would find in a shop. I don't have a problem with the packaging, but I've seen some reviews where people gave the product one or more stars because the packaging wasn't really a display case. Whether it's for yourself or as a gift, don't discount the kit because of the packaging. No one except unfortunate people who have nothing left to complain about will break the package in no time.
