I would recommend everyone to have one of these in their main file.
A week after installing this item and two grounding switches, lightning struck a telephone pole near my home. I was near the control box when it happened and could actually hear the device working. It clicked and the LED went out. Then it started and everything was fine. I was lucky because at that time I had a TV, a laptop and an air conditioner. None of the lights were even dimmed as this item channeled excess energy to the ground. It worked great and none of my items were damaged. I would recommend everyone to have one of these in their main area of concern.
