Will be updated after the next storms. Easy to install

Installed in a summer house for protection after the June storms destroyed many other Revain purchases (Sonos speakers, GE Link LED bulbs) as well as my coffee maker and the control panel for my gas ovens. It seems to be in an area where the surge path to ground always goes through my house (or a neighbor's house). Easy to install in the box, just make sure you install it correctly (see wrong installation). Keep receipts and warranty papers, there is a specific procedure to follow if you have a

VERY VERY VERY satisfied

Excellent. I turned off the power to the panel. Then just unplug the 2 existing switches and slide them down and screw them back on. Didn't even have to unplug it. Then I inserted this bracket into the free space at the top of the plate. Then I only connected 1 white wire. Put the cover back on the control panel and turn the main power back on. Green light required. Installation is very easy and it is enclosed in my panel compared to other devices that would require a different enclosure…

Relatively easy installation

Fairly easy installation assuming the user has some panel experience. It's hard to say how much it protects, but it seems to me that there's an extra layer closer to the source. I think it would be better to install something on the counter but I think it would be prohibitively expensive.

  • Pleasant to use

Works perfectly. Make sure it's installed properly.

Two types. Check your breakers! It is also necessary to mount as close to the main mount as possible. NOT ON THE BOTTOM. Nothing helps below. The surge protection device must be overvoltaged first. Not least. This is the code in my state.

I would recommend everyone to have one of these in their main file.

A week after installing this item and two grounding switches, lightning struck a telephone pole near my home. I was near the control box when it happened and could actually hear the device working. It clicked and the LED went out. Then it started and everything was fine. I was lucky because at that time I had a TV, a laptop and an air conditioner. None of the lights were even dimmed as this item channeled excess energy to the ground. It worked great and none of my items were damaged. I would…

Great part of a whole house surge protection system

A few points to mention: They suggest installing this device on the side of the load center closest to the feeder, in fact this is more important than people realize, and will likely mean a reorganization of your current switches. I'm by no means an expert on surge suppression, but I've done quite a bit of research into different types of suppression and the science behind it. When I bought my house, I installed this cheap insurance for all electronics in the house, including those that run on…

  • Not everything fits

I have a UPC backup battery in my office and one day I sat there and it kept clicking. I've googled and this is a reference to suppressing power surges and/or switching to battery power. On the same day my central air conditioning failed and it was diagnosed as a supercharger. After $1,500 my air conditioner started working again. Years later I'm back at my computer and I hear a click and my whole story has formed in my head. I ordered this product immediately and installed it in a few days…

For QOQO. on Surge Protectors

Since most outdoor mounted surge protectors require two dedicated compartments for the switches anyway, I really like that this compartment fits right into the panel made by QO for QO. The rating is in the basic protection category and a higher category requires an external device. I figured the power supply in the town I live in was decent and the likelihood that higher protection would be needed was slim. panel with the oscillator input anyway, so the synchronization works). The setup…

Everyone should have one

I have one at home and install it for other people too. After living in a house that was struck by lightning every two years, I was weary of the damage that always followed. I haven't had lightning damage since installing it, so I recommend everyone have some form of surge suppression around the house. Everything now has computer chips and circuit boards and lots of stuff you wouldn't even think to put in it. The overvoltage protection is switched on, that doesn't work. Cooker or Dryer - 240V…
