Had some difficulty at first setting a long exposure (>30 seconds) but after I figured it out it works perfectly. Fortunately it stores the prior settings so once its setup its pretty easy to simply change the number of seconds for a longer or shorter exposure time. Cant be sure how well it works for Astro or Interval Timer - its probably another battle to set that up and switch back and forth - but it works great and is super easy to use ( once its setup ) for the single shot long exposure I use it for.
