The steel door looks the same as the wooden door
Was cool: First applied a brown kiln primer for 24 hours drying, then it took me 3 passes (coats of yellow stain which I used, American finish, best gel stain, with the easiest to work with. My front steel door has all the texture of a wooden door, it's dark now but in daylight to take a picture if I can capture the texture of the wood on this steel door now. I'm not tricky at all and worked for me. Try it! I bet you do a lot with it!
