It's not easy to install and if you have a front diff skid plate it will interfere with reinstallation. The shock frame mount is installed between the skid plate and the frame, so I had to add a spacer on the other side. Didn't notice any difference in handling. I bought it to help with steering slip on my '97 K1500 but it made no difference. In the end I just removed the steering gear and reflashed it following the GM service manual. No more slop and goodbye stabilizer! When I removed the steering box I noticed that the bipod arm to the connecting ball joint was scratching the stabilizer bar housing. Overall, I wouldn't recommend it for use on a 1997 K1500.
