Removing the oil pan was very difficult. I removed the upper manifold, throttle body and lifted the engine. Take a picture of the vacuum hoses. You don't have to drain the radiator. But you have to turn the engine to remove the crank counterweights. The book doesn't say that! I put a wrench on the flywheel to crank the engine at idle. Raising the engine to a great height will not allow you to remove it. Patience is the key. Raise the engine 2-3 inches and the oil pan will come loose. Promise. Clean the surface of the pot well. I used a plastic scraper and a very rough piece of steel wool. Coarse steel wool worked great. At the same time, the engine mounts were replaced. Valve cover gasket replaced, upper intake manifold removed. Much luck!
