Be Careful - Video Cable

I used a DVI-HDMI cable but wanted something more secure. I bought this cable and installed it and vertical lines appeared on the monitor. Why? The cord arrived "kinked" when they wrapped it around themselves. There were no bent pins or noticeable corrosion. Maybe it's just bad materials or a kink in the cable. Anyway, I couldn't use it.
