I almost love these hooks

My Boye hook hurt the heel of my hand so I opted for soft grip hooks. These hooks have excellent grips. However, the shaft is not as smooth as it seems to me. Doesn't slide well on the yarn. You can feel it pulling and I'm afraid there will be tiny cracks that will affect the longevity of the project. Contrary to the answers in the Q&A section, these hooks are made in China.
