I originally wanted to install a plunge router bit for mortise hinges in a new wooden door but decided to try it first with a separately purchased 1/4" straight bit (Dremel 654 The attached image shows my first and second freehand attempts - the first was too deep and shaky, but I managed it on the second try. Here's what I recommend: Draw a _dark_pencil outline and adjust the depths with the loop see, then confirm on the wood paneling; then start in the middle of the side of the loop (the edge to be removed) and remove the material in an arc/semi-circle, gradually working your way towards the outline like ripples in water - this way you always have something to hold in that you can put the tool in. Also, stop often to blow off the shavings so you can see where you are h are located. a - You will also need it if your loop has a square corner. All in all a worthwhile and useful bit, although I didn't use the bits that came with it.
