Do not buy! - Power tool parts and accessories

I bought this product to engrave some stars on wood and I found it easy to use but I was disappointed. The locking screw was too weak and moved slightly during engraving. Some cuts were deeper than others. I also didn't like that it was difficult to see even through the large side opening. Maybe just me having user error but I didn't think it was worth the money. I ended up doing all my engravings by hand and it worked great.

Pros
  • Excellent overall performance
Cons
  • Hard to tell

Worked for me on power tool parts and accessories

Recently installed a subway tile apron in the kitchen. I had several tricky cuts in preparing the plaster wall and around the windowsill. The included nozzle worked well for cutting plaster as well as cutting ceramic tile. The tool effectively controls the depth of the cuts. I give 4 stars because everything is plastic and looks pretty cheap. It should hold up to light use, but I'm not sure about long term use.

Pros
  • Handy thing
Cons
  • There are defects

Perfect if you have money to burn

I found this Dremel attachment absolutely perfect and does not do what it is advertised to do. On several attempts at carving simple right angles in wood only to drill a serpentine and go through the wood more like using a Ouija board, I unhooked it from my Dremel and threw it in the trash so it was there would be at least one less useless thing in the world to convince clients they are working for something other than raising your blood pressure.

Pros
  • Delivery was very quick
Cons
  • Safety

Great for guiding cuts

I use it for straight edge cuts and it does a great job. The only problem is that the cutting part doesn't line up with the center of the mount. Depending on how the staple rests against the straightedge, the distance from the kerf to the straightedge will vary slightly. The holes on either side are great for airflow (dust collecting) and are strong enough to hold the ruler down with enough force to get the dremel to move straight. It's also light enough to easily replace with any other light.

Pros
  • Quality construction
Cons
  • Something different

Won't cut for $#!+

Easy setup on my Dremel 3000. It doesn't cost $#!+ though. I bought this and a Dremel 3000 because I need to drill some holes a few feet into my particular mixer and the cutters are larger and more difficult to cut thin lines through 1×6 (¾ inch). I've used Dremels before so this seemed like a solution. Unfortunately, it practically does not cut. I even tried drilling a pilot hole with a drill to make it easier, but the drills don't cut much. Very disappointed because without him it will be…

Pros
  • Very good quality
Cons
  • Vulgarity

Cheap piece of junk

Dremel really screwed it up. First, there is a large gap between the part that holds the tool and the base, so the bit always tilts a little when tightened. I drew a line with a square on a piece of wood, then attached a base to it, and as you can see, after tightening it turned out to be a significant angle. Also, you can't use the collet wrench that comes with the Dremel tool because it won't fit. So I decided I would just use the cartridge. No, because the cartridge doesn't fit either…

Pros
  • Decent performance
Cons
  • Speed

Modified to fit pocket hole

I recently built a computer shelf to house the UPS, surge protector and computer and used the pocket holes to assemble the shelf. After filling all the holes with oak dowels, I needed a way to glue the dowels as close to the oak boards as possible. By snipping off some of the Dremel guard so I had easy access to the connectors and setting the bit 1/32" above the wood I was able to take my time and remove the material so it always stays flush with the material to keep the Dremel from coming…

Pros
  • Satisfied so far
Cons
  • Nothing here

You can use this with a door hinge router bit

I originally wanted to install a plunge router bit for mortise hinges in a new wooden door but decided to try it first with a separately purchased 1/4" straight bit (Dremel 654 The attached image shows my first and second freehand attempts - the first was too deep and shaky, but I managed it on the second try. Here's what I recommend: Draw a _dark_pencil outline and adjust the depths with the loop see, then confirm on the wood paneling; then start in the middle of the side of the loop (the edge…
