Poor quality and out of spec

I assumed all of these Tacoma and Tundra rear window lock repair kits would be the same for my 2003 Tundra. This was definitely not the case. The hinge holes on this item are too small, which I only noticed afterwards. I ended up ruining my locking system and had to use the full OEM replacement kit. I tried using the pivot pin that came with my latch for this poorly made hinge and ended up with the pin stuck in the hinge pin between the bracket arm and the latch. I couldn't take it anymore and I didn't want to go back. Make sure you look closely at one of those kits for sale at Revain or elsewhere where the locking lever holes are the same size and do a test run by sticking a pencil in before going to that frustrating point where i came out . . I suggest spending just $50 or less for an OEM replacement kit on Revain, Ebay, or direct from Toyota. You'd better buy something durable and fit for the job!

Pros
  • Consistent test results
Cons
  • Could have chosen a newer model
