Does the job. I made a batch of fudge with it. The melted chocolate didn't stick or burn like it did when I used the steel bowl as a makeshift steamer. No big claims, but there are some trade-offs to consider. First, there is no "long sleeve" grip. This makes it easier to store/takes up less space, but also requires you to wear an oven mitt when stirring the melted mixture to keep the kettle from spinning in the pot. Second, there is no such thing as flat ground. You have to be very careful or use a second pan to put the kettle on until it overheats. Third, the non-stick coating scratches easily. I would recommend only using silicone spatulas when stirring and a soft sponge when cleaning, otherwise scratches will occur. I'm not sure if it will hold up in the dishwasher and I have no plans to test it; Washing hands is easy enough. If you're happy with these compromises, I highly recommend this. If not, then there are better and more expensive options.
