I really like drawing with ink and watercolor and it's a good paper. I'm not a big fan of perfect binding because sometimes when you try to take a sheet out of the wrapper it breaks. However, if you make watercolors that you want to keep, you will most likely stretch them out with paper. Tape and trim the edges anyway. So it's not really a deal breaker. This panel works well for images that you want to crop to an 8x10 viewable area anyway. Approximately 3/4" tape coverage from attaching most of the 1/2" wide tape to each edge leaves a 1/4" bleed area that needs to be placed behind the mat inside the frame. If you are new to watercolor painting , you should look forward to it. If you want to make a REAL 9x12 image you will need even larger paper so you may lose it a bit due to the paper tape. I've tried many methods and the ONLY one that leaves you with really flat paper , tape it over and let it dry for a few days then trim the edges this is the paper you want to get if you want your final product after cutting was A1 size economical so it is good for those who just want to practice watercolor without messing around with all that tape and stuff and don't really bother with paper drying and all that a good watercolor notepad, w if you want. Removing the star is exactly what it is because it is a high quality, premium watercolor. or paper? no It probably won't stand to wipe down all your existential fears on paper. But that's exactly what the description and good quality promises for hobbyists and learners. I recommend a set for this. It will not disappoint you.
