Review on ๐Ÿš— Moog 81069 Coil Spring Set: Superior Performance and Durability for Enhanced Suspension by Justin Quinones

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Great restoration of my 2005 Yukon car!

The car was a 2005 Yukon with 95,000 miles and is fitted with the infamous Nivomat self-levelling shock absorbers. No air suspension with compressor. The replacement shocks are $300 each, so I did a little research and found that if I replaced the factory coil springs with coil springs designed for the Z71 suspension, I could use regular gas shocks. The local shop was charging over $300 just for the work. Ridiculous! I bought these Moog coils and a pair of Monroe Gas Magnum shocks and installed them in my driveway in two hours with just basic hand tools. Only six screws. Remove the two rear stabilizer bar bolts and pull out the links (this allows the rear axle to lower enough to pull out the springs). Remove the four bolts holding the shock absorbers, jack up the rear of the car until the rear wheels are off the ground and the old coils and shock absorbers just pop out. Insert new coils, lower the car and reattach everything. Very easy. After installation, the stern rose higher than I thought it would. Over 2 inches. And now it rides a little stiffer, but it's perfect for my towing needs. Now rulitsya much nicer!

Pros
  • Hands-free operation
Cons
  • Not bad, but...
