Review on 🚘 Dorman 741-429 Front Passenger Side Power Window Motor & Regulator Assembly for Ford / Lincoln Models (OE FIX), Black by Marco Roberson

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Excellent price. Easy to fix. right part.

Power windows/motors are complex devices (cables, pulleys, motors) but they are easy to make by hand. Just search the web and you will find step-by-step instructions. But basically it's just a task to remove the door panel, undo 5 screws, unscrew the 2 tabs holding the window, remove the old motor, install the new one, install all the hardware and replace the door panel. i did this twice already (Ford had bad power windows, at least on the F-150 in 2005). The first time was on the driver's side, I bought it at an auto parts store. The box contained a small instruction manual and two wire clips. The crimping of the wires is due to Ford reversing the polarity of the power windows in the middle of the year. So there's a chance that up was down and down was up. Of course I had to cut and swap the cables. However, it's okay. This part had nothing in the box other than the packaged part. Factory sealed part but no instructions or electrical connections. Oddly enough, this one worked as is. no problems with polarity. It can be intimidating to open a box and see a large, complex piece without a single guide. Remember this is a bolt on replacement only. Remember that the connection to the vehicle's power supply is made with a two-wire key. If the polarity is wrong, just cut the wires and swap them. Ford will charge you about $180 per part. Auto parts stores will charge you around 130, but there are often coupons to bring the price closer to 115. Same part (same brand) as auto parts here for 77. Unreal deal.
