So my friend and I have a 2WD sedan. All season tires only. We had a trip up into the mountains the next day after a heavy snowfall (2 feet in some places). Our GPS put us on some kind of country road I guess. Ratings were steeper than 10 percent. 10 percent is cool for a road, especially when covered in snow and ice. So, of course, one of the hills was stopped at 3/4 of the way up. I had to step back halfway to a flatter spot and drop the chains, which was very easy. It was the first time I wore them on the street in the snow. Both took about 5 minutes in total. Simple pizza. So we started climbing again halfway up, so we didn't have room to gain speed beforehand. The chains lifted us up slightly! And I mean simply. I was very surprised. I kept them on very hilly and winding terrain for the next 15 miles. Not a single accident at all. When you see only 4WD vehicles driving down the road, you drive your 2 wheel sedan you tend to think you went the wrong way lol but once the chains were in place they stayed and stayed very tight and allowed us to get to our seats. Aim high in the mountains :) highly recommended
