affordable mesh system

I finally gave in and ordered this mesh system to upgrade my existing 4 year old router. Recently, my old router started interfering and the Wi-Fi signal dropped intermittently when we went from the bedroom to the living room and vice versa. I tried adding a Wi-Fi extender and repeater, but I wasn't very happy with the result, Wi-Fi switching between the main router and the repeater/extender was sometimes delayed up to a minute. After reviewing the performance of this mesh system and comparing it to other buyers' experiences, I decided to try this mesh system for the following reasons: 1. It is very affordable compared to other more popular mesh systems ranging from 300 to can cost $5002. I really like the cubic design of this mesh system. It looks like a Bose satellite speaker, which is pretty cool.3. It supports both 2.4GHz and 5GHz with the same SSID without having to create 2 different SSIDs like my old router did.4. Easy and hassle free setup with a remote access app that allows me to access and manage my WiFi settings from anywhere. Overall, my new WiFi works very well. I no longer get dead spots or signal dropouts when moving around the house or even outside in the yard. I placed 3 blocks about 20ft apart but there are 3 to 5 walls between them and still make a great connection. I ran a speed test with my Spectral Cable Internet on a mesh Wi-Fi system and it maxed out at around 190Mbps (which makes up my max internet plan). The only thing I want is a DHCP reservation, which doesn't really matter because I have a workaround. Overall, I think it's worth it for the sake of convenience.

Pros
  • Multiple Gigabit Port
Cons
  • Not bad but...
