After cutting the brown paper bag, apply glue to cover the bag's seams. I no longer had a pocket tear at the seams. I have used Titebond interior glue but I would recommend contact cement as it is flexible especially with a tight mesh or strip of old clothing. I wouldn't do that as the pockets actually work quite well and the only fault I could find, albeit a major one, is the stitching around the edges.
