I ordered this Dorman 600-105 Latch Actuator for my 2014 F150. It was perfect; but i damaged it during installation. I didn't fully seat the gear into the CV axle splines and the nylon ring broke; this makes the same noise when driving. my fault So I ordered a "real Ford" P/N 7L1Z-3C247 since several reviews on YouTube and others here say "It's a real Ford - no better" or something like that. Well I have news for you, when I received my genuine Ford part it had EXACTLY the same markings - both said 'Warn Industries' and both had EXACTLY the same thing: pink paint smudge. She. The Ford part had a Ford part number, but the Dorman part had that number removed. Identical Parts - BOTH made by Warn. Well, the Ford part was only a few dollars more than the Dorman part, but the Ford part took a few days to arrive, so I guess getting a Dorman part isn't a problem. If BOTH are made by Warn Industries, why doesn't Warn sell them too? Well the problem is solved, now the truck runs smooth and nice. When installing the actuator, some videos mention that a vacuum is drawn when it is placed in the hub. This removes the gear coupling and makes it easier to install in place without damaging the part. Be VERY careful when reinstalling the CV axle - I broke a few during installation. but then again my fault. Yes, this part is an "original FORD part" from the manufacturer. SAME ARTICLE. Now you know where Ford is taking you.
