Review on πŸ”§ TEKTON 5547: Powerful 4 Ton Dual Gear Power Puller for Effective Lifting and Towing by Vladimir Castillo

Revainrating 1 out of 5

Seems well done. on Wrenches

I've had a few breakdowns over the years, this is the heaviest I've ever had for its rating. Haven't used it yet, but I'll edit this review when I do. It looks good out of the box, the details are well finished. It comes with a nice solid jerk block. I plan to take it apart in places to lubricate it, as the drum is quite stiff and you should still lubricate the drum pin. The anchor hook and other end are well made, but are held in place by a C-clip pin, so I have no idea that end needs to be a bolt and nut. I'll probably update that too. Overall, this is a good $50 device out of the box. As for people saying this or something comes on Amazon curves or buckle handles etc. I think they're just taking it too far. If you can't easily pull the handle and spin the drum, stop trying, you're at your limit. Of course it says "8000 lbs" but that doesn't account for friction. The coefficient of friction can cause a 1,000lb load to exceed the 8,000lb required to move it. Is it on a dry or wet road? is he stuck in the mud? how deep? How hard is the dirt? do you move uphill There are many variables in this figure. I ripped them to pieces with seemingly light loads simply because friction stuck them to the surface. It's not magic, it's simple physics. Movable loads are not dead weight. Depending on how they got the rating, they were able to tow 8000 pounds on very low CoF flat ground. For example, if I have a 1,500 pound dead cow on a dry lawn and a 1,500 pound concrete block on the same surface, it can take five times as much force to move one and not the other. my insights and impressions. Looks like a good $50 deal out of the box.
