Review on πŸ” Melling MFA350 Oil Filter Adapter: Enhancing Engine Performance with Efficient Filtration by Dave Seawell

Fixed an oil leak

My 93 Chevy Silverado 5.7 found a large oil leak near the oil filter and engine oil cooler fittings. It looked like the old Spindletop oil well. I investigated the problem and found this article as a solution to the problem. I also ordered the recommended screws and the original AC/Delco Heavy Duty Gasket. I removed the old oil filter housing, installed an adapter and filter in its place, and secured it with the recommended screws. I started the engine with fresh oil and no more oil whips. Problem solved! Now the old truck is back in action and weighs about 50 pounds. Print. As mentioned in a previous review, I used a Fram PH30 oil filter. The size of the original filter does not match the threads of this adapter, a 13/16" hole is required.
