Review on 🍡 Goodful Stainless Steel Whistling Tea Kettle: Stovetop, Trigger Spout, Wood-Look Handle - 2.5 Qt Capacity in Sage by Jazz Rajasingam

Cute as a button but there are downsides

My old stainless steel teapot has become rusty, so I urgently needed to buy a new one - especially with the kind of tea I drink every day. This mottled blue is charming, looks unique and cozy, as well as rustic with a wooden handle and whistle spout. It has a very large storage tank, so there is less need to refill during the day. Also, the whistle isn't as high pitched as other kettles I've used. However, you don't have to use a whistle spout (which you turn on and off with a switch on the handle). The steam is clearly visible from the wide spout and stays hot for a long time. However, there are also disadvantages: While the wood stays cool, the stainless steel lid gets very hot. If you accidentally touch it while removing it to refuel, you'll get burned (or get a vapor burn if the cap is removed). This has happened to me twice as the lid is very difficult to remove. I have to move and pull, which is hard even when it's not hot. When it's hot, it's harder to remove the lid with an oven mitt. For that reason, I don't want to close the lid all the way, let it balance half-closed, and hope it doesn't tear off and burn me when I pour it.

Pros
  • All is well!
Cons
  • There are nuances
