These are great pliers

These are great pliers. I'm happy to lend them to other electricians at work (who I trust don't steal them) when they've left their pliers elsewhere, and I usually get compliments on how good they are. Since then, several men have ordered knipex products to replace their old products. I've been an electrician for 2 years now and have tried many different types of pliers - Canal, Greenley, Black Rhinoceros, Klein, Husky and many others that other electricians have allowed me to use. At the moment it is quality leader. However, I am disappointed in one thing. I used these pliers to cut the screw and now they have a small dent in the top of the blade. I don't think the advertised hardness is 64 HRC. My foreman lightly hacked screws all day with his 20-year-old Klein Journeyman 2000, and when I had the chance I checked his pliers to make sure his blades didn't have that kind of damage. Of course they don't make the same quality as the old pliers anymore, but I expected Knipex to be the new name in terms of quality. Do not cut screws larger than 1/8 inch. Even that is risky. Otherwise the blades are sharp and work well on copper. I have to give 4 stars because I only like the tool because the hardness of the steel is exaggerated.

Pros
  • Serrated gripping area with knurled jaws for pulling and gripping
Cons
  • Not bad
