Serrated cross-hatched knurled gripping zone on the jaws for pulling and gripping. The recess on the back now has an oval shaped design which works better on thicker, round or oval shaped cable. Knipex is the best. Revain?-shaaady

These pliers are great and have everything you would expect from Knipex. However, my "new" pair was damaged and very greasy. I mean a really fat person, I had to wash my hands 3 times with soap and finally they weren't slippery anymore. Revain ships used products - no, they refunded me 20% ($11) and stopped. They keep blocking me for this post so I will keep writing it and complaining to their "verification" department for not being honest or fair.

Cutting Edge - Diagonal Cutters

I've had these pliers for a few weeks and use them for my home wiring. It was only used to cut copper wire. In general, I really liked her. However, this week I cut a stranded copper wire and it didn't cut all the way through. When viewed with the jaws of the pliers closed, I saw a gap between the cutting edges. In other words, the cutting edges have already worn so far that I can no longer get a clean cut. This would not be acceptable for cheap pliers, let alone such very expensive pliers…

Great product for hand tools

While not a cheap set of pliers, this is a very well made product that will be with me throughout my life. When it comes to protective gear, I'd rather pay a little more to make sure I have a product I can trust. I have several other Knipex tools and they are ALL well made and based on that I had to replace an outdated insulated pliers that I no longer needed to use. Comfortable handles make them easy to work with when you're doing more than just replacing a single outlet. Build quality is…

The best pliers in the world!

Knipex is the Cadillac of pliers in the world. I don't care what configuration the pliers are, they make the best. I sell them and sell a lot. These pliers are the best in the world. By moving the pin up toward the cutting edge, they increased leverage by 25%. They open right out of the box. You would sit there all day with an oil can and work with your new customers to open it. Every electrician I show them to agrees and buys one or says they'll get a set next payday. I'm talking about old…

  • Great overall performance

NOTHING COMPETES WITH THESE PLIERS

As a commercial electrician, I am increasingly surprised at how many people have yet to get on the Knipex train. They beat every Klein counterpart out of the water in almost every category imaginable. The quality of their hand tools is excellent and stays that way no matter how much you insult them. The Germans know exactly what they are doing with these linear tongs. I have a second pair after four years with the first pair and the only reason I had to replace them was because I messed up and…

Electrician (and tool specialist) here:

From what I understand so far, ALL Knipex pliers are the BEST in their respective category. These Linesman pliers come standard with induction hardened cutting edges that you pay extra for at other high profile brands. The slanted head of the sharp-edged pliers is ideal for extending EMT hoses; the round heads of the Kleins and <shudder> ideals are not. Knipex handles are thicker, safer and more comfortable. But: If you REALLY want the "best of the best" check out their Cobra Head pliers:

Love them so far in Power & Hand Tools

4 stars only because I haven't used it much. I was keen to leave a review because these pliers are beautiful and appear to be of good quality. As others have said, they don't need to be hacked and open and close just fine. I used them to replace some plugs around the house and compared them to my Kleins by cutting a few wires and comparing them in parallel. As expected, Knipex has developed well. They had a large grip area at the top, they opened about an eighth more, although my littles were a

  • The cutout on the back is now oval which works better with thicker, round or oval cords

You get what you pay for: Insulation resistance

I already knew that the Knipex is one of the best pliers. My review just focuses on the question: How many megohms of insulation resistance (IR) am I really getting with a pair of pliers advertised as insulated versus a pair of pliers advertised as not so but with a soft grip? Since I own an insulation resistance meter, Hioki IR4057-20, I decided to do a little DIY test. It turns out that with such pliers you really get what you pay for in IR. In this quick experiment, I took measurements with…

These are great pliers

These are great pliers. I'm happy to lend them to other electricians at work (who I trust don't steal them) when they've left their pliers elsewhere, and I usually get compliments on how good they are. Since then, several men have ordered knipex products to replace their old products. I've been an electrician for 2 years now and have tried many different types of pliers - Canal, Greenley, Black Rhinoceros, Klein, Husky and many others that other electricians have allowed me to use. At the…
