Review on πŸ”Œ GE UltraPro 6-Outlet Surge Protector with Flat Plug and Designer Braided Extension Cord – 2 Ft, 560 Joules, Wall Mount, UL Listed (White)" by Kevin Mariappan

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Good product overall but

I bought the 'GE UltraPro 6 Outlet Surge Protector, 2 Ft' for a very specific application. Seems to be a good GE product. I've only had it for a few days, so I don't have time to really feel its long-term working quality. The reasons I gave it three stars instead of five are as follows: 1. There is no indicator to show if it is on or off. And to add to this confusion, the switch has no marking or indication of the "on" or "off" position. Surprisingly a huge annoyance.2. I bought the two foot length because that length fits comfortably in most outlets and the extension cord rests comfortably on the floor. Exactly what I was looking for. However, like most ribbon cables with a connector, the cable faces down and to the right of the connector. The cable is relatively stiff and its stiffness therefore determines the position of the force extension on the floor. It looks like the designers never tested the product this way because due to the location of the spade connector and the considerable stiffness of the cable itself, the power button lies nice and even on the carpet, but face down. So in order to connect anything to an extension cord, the short cord must be rotated 180 degrees so aggressively that the extension cord is facing up. Even so, the rigidity of the strong cable means the surge protector will slowly return to its concealed position, even after plugs have been inserted. Extremely annoying. Because of these two very annoying mishaps, I would not buy another one, nor would I recommend this product.
