I have a 2005 Mini Cooper and the top hinge didn't fully fit on the ball causing it to come loose. I had to remove the plastic mount from the original posts and rethread the plastic threads to fit the new posts as the new posts have large threads. It seems to have worked...the struts seem very strong, it's been a long time since this machine was new so I can't remember if the original struts were that strong so it takes a little getting used to using them as close Old ones lose their strength over time. They work but the fact that they don't work is they don't snap or fit properly which is why I'm only giving 1 star.
