Review on ๐Ÿ•ท๏ธ SpiderMaker PLA Filament: Unbelievable Additive Manufacturing Solutions by Joseph Stone

Best filament I've ever printed with

This yarn is great when you are looking for almost invisible lines, very precise angles, no stretch and proper tack. When printing at 0.12 on the CR-10vc2, every Spider Maker filament I've tried (five now) has produced my best prints yet. It's not just the printer setup, I've printed with other high quality filaments with good but not so good results. The most interesting thing is that this filament gives a semi-gloss finish but lays over so well that when printing on a relatively thin layer you have to look closely to see the layers. At 0.2 they are visible and at 0.12 they are almost invisible. As mentioned, the corners are sharp and when printed parts need to "match" other parts, they just do it. I haven't noticed any expansion or shrinkage. The parts also have very little elasticity and feel less brittle, but remain very strong. I print at 213 degrees with these filaments as the recommended range is 210-230. When the CR10v2's bed cools down, parts with this thread come loose easily. There's just one problem with him, he's not good with bridges, even small ones. So plan for support when you need it and it will handle the support removal with ease. Please note they are supplied in 3/4kg rolls, not 1kg rolls. So expensive, but worth every penny for me. I highly recommend this range of PLA filaments. The only other filament I've tried that prints as accurately and has almost invisible lines is Prusament, which also produces great prints. But they tend to be shinier without being shiny and so the back seam is a bit more visible. Otherwise they are of equal quality.

Pros
  • LOW STRINGING - Easy printing with less filament. The SpiderMaker PLA Matte series saves you time in post-production.
Cons
  • Something Different
