Adapter works as advertised. Hassle free installation on my Windows 10 laptop. Windows automatically installed the driver and the adapter successfully negotiated 2.5Gbps both on the switch and over the long Category 5e cable in the wall to the basement. It was stable after working for several hours. So this is good news. The bad news is that Android devices usually don't have a driver for it. This doesn't work on my Samsung Tab S5 or my Pixel 3. Another bad news that isn't a product defect, the 2.5 Gb/s transfer over the USB-C port (or Thunderbolt 3 port) turns out to be too much out a load on the CPU. When I transferred a large file, the CPU usage was quite high and the mouse was a bit sluggish. This is on a Core i7 laptop. So my advice for anyone new to 2.5Gbps networking is to get a PCIe network card if they have a desktop computer. The USB adapter is laptop-only and ready for heavy CPU usage if you're really using high bandwidth.
