Easy to install and good field of view

Even though I have a doorbell with a camera, there is a significant delay when someone rings the doorbell and when we can see who is at the door through the phone app. A peephole is a non-technical solution that allows you to see who is at the door before you open it. If you then don't know who it is, you can always speak into the camera through the doorbell to determine what the visitor is up to. The protective cover was my wife's stipulation to prevent anyone from looking in through the viewing window. Installation was easy. I determined the correct height for the viewer and then drilled through the door with a small diameter drill bit to make sure I knew where the hole would be on the outside of the door. This allowed me to drill through the fiberglass door skin both inside and out to ensure there were no splinters (because the drill bit doesn't pierce the door's skin). The two halves fit holes and fit together easily and are perfect for a 1-3/4" thick door. It works great with excellent wide angle viewing and acceptable distortion. We are pleased with our robust door viewer.
