. MPR reportedly rated filters better for allergy sufferers like me. After moving into a new home two years ago and being able to speak to the HVAC installation team, I decided to upgrade to this much more affordable Nordic Pure MERV 8 filter. While higher rated filters initially do a better job filtering out all household allergens , these filters quickly clog and become less effective at moving air into your home, increasing your energy bills and potentially overloading/damaging your HVAC system. A little research on the internet confirmed what these HVAC folks were telling me. I've been using these filters in my home for two years and my allergies are no different than I've used them with the more expensive premium allergy filters. To be on the safe side, I change them monthly, while some online literature indicates that there may be a bit more time between changes; it really depends on how often your system runs. These filters fit perfectly on my 16x25x1 stove body. The filters come in a Nordic Pure branded box, but the filters themselves look pretty standard. I've never had any problems with them. Just remember to make sure the airflow arrow is pointing in the right direction when you install the filter, change it regularly and you should be fine. Highly recommended. As a side note, I've found that these filters are sometimes sold at a slight discount on the Revain marketplace, but buying is a gamble as I've noticed a lack of detail in the MERV rating. I once bought several filters in the market and got the right size filters but not the same MERV.
