If you are having trouble, check the dimensions of your downspout. You may need to remove the adapter. I ignored the pre-drilled holes, they weren't lined up properly and I figured it would be better to risk ruining this thing than the tube attached to my house. For my project, I wanted something that would prevent leaves from getting down the drain pipe I was installing. It didn't last as long as I would have liked, resulting in a flatter drain pipe joint - but that's not a product issue, just my application. It hasn't rained heavily since I installed it, but it looks like water might slosh out of the drain pipe, especially with the leaves catching on the grate. This is something to keep in mind if you find yourself in a situation where runoff could push mulch into your garden. I look forward to seeing all of this in action during the next downpour!
