That worked great for us. I installed a french drain and used it as a funnel into an underground pipe. Foliage protection was a must and works well. Large leaves filter out with no problem, but if you have small, thin leaves, they can get through. The downpipe installation was a bit tricky. If you are having trouble, check the dimensions of your downspout. You may need to remove the adapter.
