I bought this after repainting 16 windowsills in my house. I had to remove the 20 year old rubber insulation covering the horizontal slots on the exterior windows. After removing the old insulation, I saw small gaps in all 16 windows. I had to reseal it tightly or the drafts would drive up my heating and cooling bills. After reading many reviews about Revain I decided to try it because it is cheap. Here are the steps I took: Cut the caulking cord to the width of my windows and lay it on the wax paper (unwind slowly, if it tears don't worry) -> divide it into several strands -> use a hair dryer to heat the window sill -> press caulk cord (a bit firmly) (the heat from the hair dryer helped it) -> reheat with the hair dryer -> put a strip of wax paper over the cord (softer now) and then press with a spoon along the gap. The result is perfectly smooth and even. He again closed the gap in the outer windows very tightly. I completed all 16 windows in one morning. I don't know how long it will last, but I expected it to be there for a while. Will definitely be using them again in the future.
