The metal plate wasn't quite black as it appeared.
According to the product photo, the metal plate was not completely black. Two of the three plates I ordered were bent at the corners and all the plates had many scratches showing a very light color on the bottom. The packaging seemed secure, but the damage to the records suggested otherwise. The holes in the panels were too small for any of the screws I was going to use, so I had to use a drill to widen the holes. All the hassles associated with these plates aside, the metal (which is only listed as "metal" and not a specific metal) seemed pretty brittle in and of itself.
