I received a similar item when I bought my Homedics humidifier from Lowes and it seemed to work. This one, not so much. In truth, I've read all the reviews that said they didn't help reduce white dust, but I was hoping it would reduce mineral buildup in the humidifier itself... but it didn't. I still get these hard mineral deposits in the machine bowl over time. Do I have to clean the block again after every second gas station?
