My kids absolutely loved playing this game. It combines physical moving pieces with an app.I was looking for a game where my oldest can practice their skills while introducing and teaching those skills to their younger siblings and this is it .You have to download the app onto your iPad . You can create multiple profiles depending on grade, playing experience and difficulty. There are avatars that they can choose to personalize their profile , so we were pleasantly pleased to see a brown princess as an option. Thank you for that. The game pieces are beautifully detailed. They are about 1-2inch in height and made of rubber. Super handy when a toddler takes and throws a piece. This can be a single or two-player interactive game. There is audio instructions for the very beginner. A small history lesson about Chess, step-by-step instructions about each individual piece and its moves and many gaming options. The interactive game gives hints on where to move your next piece. When a piece is taken/defeated , there is small clip/movie showing its demise. They had a kick watching it and the look of the characters. This is definitely a quality game and we are happy to add it to our collection. The only thing that I would add is an option for a carrying case . This is a game that I won’t mind screen time and it would be easy to take to grandma’s.
