They work great no matter what type of pipe or rig you have. I cleaned all 10 bongs we had at the time of purchase and they were all so clean that even the ones I've had for 4-5 years with some build up look almost new. I was able to get rid of stains on the parts that I couldn't reach before because I couldn't pin/fill the parts completely with alcohol. I am a hospital patient and a heavy smoker and use these forks weekly/biweekly. They have made washing much faster and easier. Like I said, I wish I'd bought them sooner so my old clothes are as spotless as new. Amazing invention!
