This type of screw was the industry standard for contractors making decks etc. It was called Phillips II. It was sold at Home Depot, Lowes and other hardware stores. But due to some legal/copyright issues they discontinued them. So contractors just bought what was new from Home Depot and Lowes, ie star or square bits. You can't just take a regular Phillips screwdriver and pry them out! That's why I now only use these FastenMaster screws. I inserted them with a Dewalt drill. But if I don't have one, I can use a regular screwdriver to get them in and out. and later, when something needs fixing, you can unscrew them more easily than a star screw or square head screw. They no longer sell these particular screws at Home Depot and Lowes, but I've seen them for the real price. But here on Amazon they are cheaper. I will continue to use only Phillips head screws in everything I build.
