Review on ORICO Mini 250GB Portable External SSD: Superfast Read/Write Speeds up to 1000MB/s with USB-C Port – Ideal for MacBook and More! by Mark Sharma

Nice high speed nvme drive but gets hot!

If you're using a high-speed USB-C cable and your laptop or desktop supports USB-C 3.1 or 3.2, you can achieve read and write speeds of 450-480Mbps, but be warned, this one Device gets very hot! And probably shouldn't be used to permanently write large files! reading is ok May 2021 Update: It's been around 6 months since I ordered this drive and I also bought an additional 250GB drive. These drives are now my favorite portable SSDs after the Samsung T5 workhorse, the WARM is still a HUGE issue and one of the things I've tried that has had some success is putting a portable USB fan directly onto this drive as well as a few of my others High temperature to blow USB peripherals. This may not be the ideal solution for everyone, especially if you're using this drive attached to a laptop I'd just say you might have some sort of aluminum cooling pad or something if you're using this heavy-duty drive, or it will wear itself out heat up to the point where read/write speeds slow down. For gaming it was fairly reliable, however as I have an old desktop PC I haven't tried running any of my AAA 3D games on it (like Far Cry 5 or Battlefield etc) but if you have a newer gaming system it will a 3.1 or 3.2 port you should be able to do this without any problems. Just be aware that under heavy use this drive will get hot (like I said)!
