So this is a really good guide to slicing even slices of bread, but as I was slicing I noticed the knife scraping away the plastic that was getting mixed up with the bread slices. After that it was a hassle to remove the plastic from the bread and we ended up having to throw out the whole batch. Because it's fragile, you can't cut it with a bread knife without removing the plastic from the slicer. You can try an electric knife, but be careful not to touch the plastic of the slicer at all, including the underside. I would argue that this makes the bread a dangerous or tedious task (cleaning every bite).
