Review on ๐Ÿฟ Hamilton Beach Electric Hot Oil Popcorn Popper, Healthy Snack Maker, Red - Produces 24 Cups (73302) by Maria Fukushima

10 months and the engine died.

I bought a Hamilton Beach popcorn maker on January 23, 2018. I've owned it for about 10 months. I used to have Westbend Stir Crazy Popcorn until the lid's handle snapped and a replacement lid cost more than new popcorn. So I tried the Hamilton Beach popcorn maker. What I immediately noticed was that unlike Westbend's Stir Crazy popper, the Hamilton Beach popper didn't have a detachable cord for easy storage. The Hamilton Beach popcorn lid was definitely thicker and better quality. Quality compared to Westbend Stir Crazy. I owned the Westbend Stir Crazy for about two years before the lid handle broke. I have a Hamilton Beach popcorn maker about 10 months old and have noticed that when I plug it in the motor will not start. I have to take my finger and press the stirrer to make it spin. My guess is that he will probably die completely in the near future. I used both poppers 1-3 times a week every week. Comparing the two I would say the Stir Crazy is durable and has a detachable cord for easy storage but a cheap lid. The Hamilton Beach Popper let me down with the lack of a solid motor and attached line that doesn't allow for easy storage. I will be in touch with Hamilton Beach to see what they can do for me regarding a warranty exchange.
