Review on 🔩 Hillman Fasteners 2.5x10 Stainless Steel Screw by Chris Cruz

Ordered 2 boxes for 11$ for 5£! It must have been a pricing error as they are now $27. I've turned about 500 screws and it's decent, not great. These are the first composite screws I have ever used. They pass easily through the composite but tend to wobble, stop moving 30% of the time when they hit wood and it takes extra effort to get them to bite. The starter works well although it's a bit smaller than I'd like as I almost tore a couple dozen out of 500. They do a very good job of not picking up mushrooms or trash as long as they go straight. If the angle is more than a few degrees they will leave some material on the hole and some mushroom shape on the bottom. Overall I was happy with the finished look. The biggest problem was with a couple of screws that didn't hit the joist, as the part of the screw that goes into the decking board is reverse-threaded and makes a bigger hole than the thread that holds the joist, they won't retreat I only have 2 that made it and I'm not sure I can get them out.
