This fitting or 90 degree elbow is simply necessary to connect the drain hose between the oil pan and the disposal tank. This makes changing the oil very easy and clean. I will buy a similar setup for my stationary boat. I can run the drain hose through the drain plug at the bottom of the mirror and into my waste jug. This will make it a lot easier!
