Review on πŸ”§ GRAND PITSTOP Tubeless Tire Puncture Repair Kit | 15 Mushroom Plugs for Motorcycles & Cars by Andrew Schreider

Revainrating 5 out of 5

The product really worked. but the instructions are poor

I got this set for my Indian chief a few months ago and had to use this product for the first time today. I've been riding motorcycles for almost 40 years and in all that time I've only had one flat tire - I had to use one of those old plug kits with glue and carbon dioxide canisters. I bought this kit because it looked solid, the concept (mushroom plug) looked promising and safe enough. positive reviews. So today. I was in this small town 70 miles from my vacation home and as I set off I was immediately told by the bike computer that the pressure was less than 19psi :( I went back to the gas station, checked the rear wheel and of course there was a small hole , but there was no nail or screw, I got the set out and the first thing that struck me is that the instructions have these very small pictures that accompany the text, squashed onto a page that are too small, to see what it is about. The text is good but good pictures are needed to properly understand the repair process. This was a big mistake I made - I had to look at the instructions (and video) to understand how to use the kit Did I really need it (instead of buying it and throwing it in a bag) That's also a mistake the seller should correct - put big pictures in the instructions and it will vi el be easier to fix After 10 minutes of fiddling, I finally understood what they were supposed to be doing b, and the w kit worked exactly as I had hoped and expected. I had no issues with the silicone plugs and they worked like a champ! I inflated the tire to 41psi, making sure it wasn't starting to leak (and it wasn't), then rode home - over 70 miles and watched the tire pressure screen on the bike - the tire pressure didn't change. t falls below the 41psi I put in the tire - amazing! I think the kit is great, the tools are good quality and the process was easy (once you got it). You just have to correct the instructions. And if you buy one, make sure you know how to use it before you need it.

Pros
  • Great for me
Cons
  • No instructions
