Mushroom dowels are a good solution for nailing or screwing a motorcycle tire (and probably other types of tires too). This kit works well but definitely requires careful reading of the instructions and maybe even a dry run. It will be limited to a certain class of punctures, but that's to be expected. Didn't like it after the first try. Instructions are easy, execution difficult. Tried replacing an old school plug with these new ones, unfortunately the mushroom plug never came out of the tool insert. I found a small nail in the rear tire of my FJR1300, left of center. The tire was fairly new so I wanted to plug it up instead of replacing it. After reviewing several products, I settled on the Grand Pitstop Repair Kit. I liked the idea of the mushroom plugs more than the ropes of the cheaper kits.
